Designing and building motorcycles is a way of making dreams come true. And nobody has known what motorcyclists’ dreams are made of as intimately or for a longer time than BMW.
Our visions, our skills and the pleasure we get from riding our own products are the stuff that these dreams are made of - again and again. BMW Motorcycles combine dynamism and agility with visual appeal. We have been making them since 1923 – a long time, but we’re more enthusiastic than ever about what we do.
Our dreams have always had two wheels - but with both feet firmly on the ground! You can see this from the steady stream of innovations we have introduced, for instance the BMW Motorrad Telelever front suspension in 1993. Time and again we have set new standards in engine and brake technology: In 1991 it was exhaust emission control by the first closed-loop, three-way catalytic converter designed specially for motorcycles. In 1998 it was another world first – a motorcycle anti-lock braking system (ABS). We apply the same high standards to every aspect of motorcycling: The world’s first waterproof rider’s suit made from GORETEX® came from BMW, and so did the first navigation system for motorcycles. Every product we sell complies with our own impeccable standards of design, function, handling, reliability, long life and safety. We are never satisfied until we can offer you a reliable product as well as an attractive one, so that you get a motorcycle that keeps both its appeal and its value. And so that riding your BMW motorcycle gives you the same sheer riding pleasure years later as it does on the very first day.
